Webeenthere to unveil network of agent experts(1/18/01)

NEW YORK -- Webeenthere, based here, will officially launch its network of agent specialists on the company's Web site Feb. 15.

Access to its content also will be available soon on other consumer sites through future strategic partnerships.

Webeenthere has been working since last February to create an exclusive database of prequalified travel experts.

Company founder and chief executive officer David Feit explained, "Our approach of building a network of experts will allow consumers to focus on the information they need rather than sort through all the clutter on 'discount' travel sites."

Feit said his company's pre-qualified agents set Webeenthere apart from other travel sites. The hundreds of Webeenthere agents who have been approved and contracted were found through referrals from industry colleagues.

"We don't just accept agents who come to us and pick a specialty," said Feit. "We talk to suppliers and other agents to locate the best experts for each destination and travel activity."

Webeenthere said it plans to aggressively pursue strategic partnerships and marketing opportunities, and it has assembled a management team and advisory board in travel, technology and finance.
